(Introduction music)
Hello everyone, thank you for listening to today’s podcast.
It’s the 21st June, the sun’s out but people aren’t.
In this year alone there have been so many terrorist attacks that I can't even count.
What I want to talk about today is one of the recent attacks that happened in Kensington.
(Incidental music)
On the 14th of june last week, Grenfell Tower caught on fire. The building was a 24 storey, 220-foot high tower block of council housing flats in North Kensington, West London. The building was critically damaged by fire, with a high number of casualties.
The incident has been investigated by metropolitan police service, they have said that 74 people are ‘missing’ seemingly dead. Each day more and more people are found. At the moment it is presumed over 79 deaths have been made. People have said it is the deadliest fire England has been witnessed in more than 100 years.
The attention of the fire, was reported to emergency services at 00:54 in the early hours of the morning. The building burned for around 24 hours until it was finally extinguished. People around the area was evacuated due to the fact the building was entirely dangerous, and could collapse at any moment.
The tower itself, contained a number of 127 flats and 227 bedrooms. 65 people were luckily rescued. 74 people were said to be in 5 different hospitals cross London. 17 of those people were in critical conditions. Rescuers were allowed to enter on the 17th of June as they couldn’t go in the day before due to too much damage. The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed but people has said there was a faulty refrigerator on the 4th floor flat. The speed of the fire is believed to aided the recently added exterior cladding.
(incidental music)
A Lot of people blame the government for what happened as the council spent 10k on exterior cladding when they should of been coming up with solutions on fire safety. A lot of people are angry, emotional drained and sad and above all of that their lost.Lost from their loved ones, knowing that they will never see or hear of them again. Who wouldn’t be?
(Incidental music)
After hearing all this information I was still confused so I went to investigate. During my time at Grenfell I spoke to many traumatised families and friends ot the community and other parts of London trying to help as much as they could.
Hamerdeep rana is one of the victims and survivor of the attack. This is an interview that was taken place on the day of the attack.

Equipment list
·
Logic (editing software) to edit our
podcast/radio segment
·
Microphone attached with a wind dust so I can
record my podcast for about 5 minutes
·
Headphones so I can listen to my recordings.
Recording schedule
I plan to start recording by 9am and hopefully finish in
half an hour. This is because I need some time to edit my podcast and make sure
I have time to check if everything’s okay. As my podcast is around 5 minutes
long I need to have some space in case I make any mistakes and need to record
again.
Copyright

produced the script. I have a right to use any YouTube clips as background
music for my podcast as I have asked the producers of the sound, however if
this doesn’t work I will use ‘no copyright music’ from YouTube. I have asked
each interviewees to be a part of my podcast and they have agreed. Everything
that I have said is not offensive or inappropriate to use as what I am
discussing is only facts and opinion. I also have gotten them to sign a letter
in making sure they keep their opinions/facts relevant and legal.
Health and safety
(risk assessment)
·
I am going to make sure that I am holding the
microphone correctly and tightly so that I don’t drop it and damage it as I am
in charge of the equipment if something went wrong.
·
I am going to make sure wires (headphones)
around are placed on the table as someone could trip over them and either hurt
themselves or break the wire lead.
·
I am also going to make sure that look after the
equipment and also keep it in a safe place as someone could take it or it could
break.
