Evaluation for Poster and Website
Evaluation for Poster Improvements
As I have used photoshops in the past I am aware of how to use the content. Our teacher Danielle let us be creative at first, as we created an example poster so we could learn experiences and ideas of how to make a poster. We learned different factors of how to make an detailed Poster. We then had the musical technician explain different types of Reggae music this was important as we would need this for ideas for our poster. I made numerous of different posters as I felt that the poster didn't meet the criteria of the brief. I also felt that I didn't include enough graphic design elements. I included a variety of graphics such as text because posters need text as my poster is to entertain audiences. I didn't include a lot of text as my graphics are enough for the audience to take in.
I didn't get a lot of feedback as my poster got deleted so I had to start over again. For my first draft the comments that I got of Danielle was to change my background image as I got pictures from the internet so I changed it to a picture of my uncle in the 80s.
The message that I wanted my Poster to show is unity and happiness within reggae and the caribbean. I feel that I have expressed that message by using certain tools and graphics on my poster. For example I used the crop tool to put different faces of reggae musicians in my reggae men silhouette. The audience knows that this is aimed at reggae audiences as I used bright vibrant colours that connote reggae colours. I also used reggae silhouette's, the audience can tell that they are reggae dancers because they are dancing and their dreadlocks are dancing as well.
Website Evaluation Improvements
I placed the banner at the top of the page, it was a primary image which I made on photoshop. The reason why I added the banner at the top of the page is because that is where banners normally are placed. The banner is not interactive so consumers cannot access anything from it, it is designed to make the top of the page stand out. The tab menu is placed underneath the banner, it is a hyperlink and an easy navigation for the user. I added the class' posters on my website so that consumers have a variety of art to view and interact with. The colours I used in the background of my website are black as I wanted to give my website a edgy look. The colours of my banner were also black as I wanted the audience to feel curious. I decided to involve music and video in my website as I wanted to show the audience different aspects of reggae music as a lot of people reggae music is just related to Bob Marley. I wanted to educate the audience with the music. I made links to my blogger account on the website so people can interact and read my blogs when they feel like it. The gallery on my posters are also interactive as well. I also have a contact page if consumers want to interact and get involved. I included a shop page for consumers can interact and buy different clothes/accessories. I made alot of changes such as changing the banner as before I used an African themed banner which I later took off.

2B.P5 (Pass) you have created appropriate graphics for a digital media product that adequately communicate the intended message of a specified brief - Reggae Poster competition 2017.
ReplyDeleteYou need to analyse and explain how your website/poster meets the brief criteria - your purpose - which was to celebrate reggae music. How have you done this using technical elements (e.g. hyperlinks) and general graphic design (colours, banners, etc.)
I have made the following changes to the evaluation
