The reflector is good for portrait photographs it reflects the light. Nikon D7100- 24mp Put the dial on 'M' mode manual manual controls aperture and shutter speed front dial controls f stop back dial controls shutter speed  on the back 'white balance' (WB) lense- A+M= A means automatic. M means manual Manual is in your control, so you can control how you want you photo Automatically means the camera focus' by itself.

Studio lighting notes Turn off classroom lights only have studio lights on because it will affect white balance On each light there is a dial ranging from 1-6 1 is the lowest setting (lowest amount of flash) and 6 is the strongest setting (highest amount of flash) Each light is set to number 3 If you adjust the height of the light and it is over the shoulder height make sure you put sandbags on each stand of the lamp Softbox- evenly spreads the light  Diffusion- on the light/screen- softens the light (natural light- it's a piece of material) Have the model 5-6 feet away from the backdrop Key light- the main source of light given out Full light- Fills in the contrast Hair line light- Put the light in the back of the model/separate the model from background/not blend in/add dimension/light is placed behind the models shoulder/head Drop levels of light (1-6) Reflectors- bounce light White bounces off light  These are the different stu...

Introduction to Photography

Photography The type of photography I would like to explore is nature, street and fashion photography. Because I studied photography as a GCSE, I have a lot of experience and would like to study more photography because I would like to either be a photographer or a photojournalist when I am older. I like this photograph because it was made from one of my favourite photographers Mika Ninagawa. I like how she saturates and contrasts each photograph and makes the colours as bright as she can. I like how the colours match together, the pink and white blend in together. I like how the background it baby blue. I like this photograph because I like how the flower matches with her lipstick. The photographer has used very nude colours to make the ‘model’ of the photograph look a classy middle-classed model. This picture was probably used for a magazine.
